Part A: Privacy

1. Privacy in Brief

Currently is a real-time, camera-only social app. Here is your privacy in one minute:

  • You choose who sees your Moments: public, friends, or a custom close group.
  • We collect only what we need to run the app: your profile, your Moments, your chats and comments, your activity, your contacts (if you allow), your location (if you allow), and payment or delivery details when you redeem rewards.
  • We never sell your personal information. Ever.
  • You control your data: you can view, edit, or delete your account anytime.
  • You have legal rights over your data under the DPDP Act, and we honor them.

In simple words

Your data, your control. We take what we need to run the app, nothing more, and we never sell it.

2. What Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use Currently.

Information You Give Us

Profile Data: When you sign up, we collect your full name, phone number, date of birth, gender, profile picture, and username. We use these for authentication and to build your profile.

Content You Create: We collect the Moments (photos and videos captured live through the Currently camera), chats, comments, Hypes and other reactions, tags, activity badges, Plans, and Event participations you create or share. This includes information inside the content, such as metadata like the date, time, and location of a Moment.

Camera Data: Currently is camera-only. When you use the camera, we process what the camera sees so we can provide features like filters, masks, and capture tips. All Moments are captured live; we do not access your photo gallery for posting.

Contact Data

If you allow contact access, we import contact details from your address book to help you find friends. We use this to:

  • Show you which of your contacts are already on Currently.
  • Notify you when a contact joins Currently.
  • Help you find mutual friends.
  • Let you invite friends to Currently. Note: Invite mechanics, including any invite limits, are shown in the app and may change from time to time.

You can turn off contact access anytime from your device settings. Friend discovery features will stop working if you do.

Networks and Connections

We collect information about your connections and interactions: the people and accounts you connect with, the Moments and tags you engage with, who you chat with most, and who Hypes, comments on, or views your Moments.

Your Usage

We collect information about how you use Currently: which Moments you view, Hype, comment on, or swipe on, how long you spend on them, which features you use (MomentSwipe, Places, Plans, Events, Live Map, chat, camera, Coin Store), your posting activity (including whether your feed is locked or unlocked under the 24-hour rule), your streaks and rewards activity, and when you last used the app. We use this to personalize your feed and suggestions.

Things Others Do That Involve You

We also receive information others provide about you. For example, when someone tags you, shares or comments on your Moment, messages you, adds you to a Plan, or syncs their contact book containing your number.

In simple words

We collect your profile details, your Moments, your chats, comments and reactions, who you talk to, and how you use the app. If you allow it, we also read your contacts to help you find friends.

3. Chat, Comments, and Swipe Data

Chat

  • We collect and store the messages you send and receive, along with delivery and read status, so your chats work reliably across sessions and devices.
  • We do not routinely read your private chats. Automated systems may scan messages for spam, malware links, and safety threats.
  • If a chat is reported, or if the law requires, we may review, preserve, and share relevant messages with law enforcement.
  • Delivery and read indicators may be visible to the people you chat with.

Comments

  • Comments you post are stored and are visible to everyone who can see the related Moment.
  • Comments you make on public Moments are public.

Swipe Data (MomentSwipe)

  • We record your swipe actions in MomentSwipe to understand your interests and improve your recommendations.
  • Swipe data also helps us detect bots and abnormal usage patterns.

In simple words

Your chats are stored so they work properly, and we do not read them unless they are reported or the law demands it. Your comments are as public as the post they sit on. Your swipes teach the app what you like.

4. Location Information: Live Map and Places

Location is central to Currently, so here is exactly how it works:

  • What we collect: Your precise device location (GPS), if you give permission. We also infer location context from your Moments, place tags, check-ins, Places you visit, Plans you join, and Events you attend.
  • Why we collect it: To show you the Live Map, suggest Places near you, help you tag Moments with locations, show you Events around you, and personalize suggestions.
  • Who sees your location: Your location visibility follows your privacy settings. Friends may see where your Moments were posted or your presence on the Live Map, based on the sharing level you choose. Place tags on your Moments are visible to whoever can see the Moment.
  • Your control: You can turn location permission off anytime from your device settings, or adjust location sharing inside the app. Location-based features will stop working when permission is off, but the rest of the app will work.
  • Safety note: Be thoughtful about sharing your live location publicly. Prefer sharing with friends or close groups.

In simple words

Location makes the Live Map and Places work. You decide if and how it is shared. You can switch it off anytime.

5. Plans, Events, and Currently Club Data

Plans

  • When you create or join a Plan, we collect the Plan details, member list, and related activity.
  • Other members of the Plan can see that you have joined.
  • If a Plan invite link is shared outside Currently (for example, on WhatsApp), people who open the link may see basic Plan details as designed by the feature.

Events

  • When you join or RSVP to an Event, we record your participation. The Event organizer and, depending on the feature, other attendees may see that you are attending.
  • For third-party events, we may share your RSVP details (such as name and username) with the organizer so they can manage the event.

Currently Club Offline Events

  • When you register for a Currently Club event, we collect your registration details and attendance.
  • Photos and videos may be captured at Club Events and used on the Platform and our social media, as explained in the Terms of Use. Tell the organizer at the event if you do not want to be featured.

In simple words

When you join a plan or event, the people in it can see you joined. Event organizers get your basic details to manage the event. Club event photos may be used by us unless you opt out at the event.

6. Gamification Data: Coins, Streaks, and C-Rank

We collect and process data connected to Currently's rewards system:

  • Your coin balance, points, earning history, milestones, and streaks.
  • Your C-Rank and how it changes over time.
  • Your referral and invite activity, including which invited friends joined and stayed active.
  • Signals used to detect reward fraud, such as duplicate Moments, repeated activity badges, device patterns, and abnormal engagement.

Leaderboard visibility: Your username, profile picture, rank, and scores may appear on leaderboards visible to other Currently users.

In simple words

We track your coins, streaks, rank, and referrals to run the rewards system and catch cheaters. Leaderboards show your name and rank to others.

7. Financial, Identity, Order, and Voucher Information

If you redeem Currently Coins, we collect additional information depending on the redemption method:

For Bank Withdrawals

  • Bank details: Your bank account number, IFSC, and account holder name (which must match your Currently name), for processing bank transfers.
  • Identity documents: Your PAN card and, where required, other government identity documents or a real profile picture, for identity verification, fraud prevention, and compliance with tax and government regulations, including TDS where applicable.

For Product Orders (Coin Store)

  • Delivery details: Your name, delivery address, and contact number, to deliver products to you.
  • Order data: Your order history, order status, cancellations, and any damage or replacement claims (including photos or videos you submit as proof).

For Gift Vouchers

  • Redemption data: The vouchers you redeem, their value, and delivery of voucher codes to you.

General

  • Transaction data: Your coin balance, earnings, withdrawal history, and redemption activity.

This information is used only for processing rewards, orders, and vouchers, for verification, fraud prevention, and legal compliance. It is shared only with payment processors, verification partners, logistics and fulfilment partners, voucher issuers, and authorities where the law requires.

In simple words

Bank withdrawals need your bank details and PAN. Product orders need your delivery address. Vouchers create redemption records. We use these only for payouts, deliveries, verification, and following the law.

8. Device Information

We collect information from the devices you use Currently on, and may combine it across your devices to give you a consistent experience. This includes:

  • Device operations: Signals like whether the app window is in the foreground or background. This helps us tell humans from bots.
  • Identifiers: Unique device IDs and identifiers linked to your account.
  • Device settings data: Information you allow through settings you turn on, such as GPS location and camera access.
  • Network information: Your mobile operator or ISP, language, time zone, phone number, IP address, and connection speed.
  • Cookie data: Data from cookies stored on your device, including cookie IDs and settings.

In simple words

We collect basic technical details about your phone and connection. This keeps the app working smoothly, keeps bots out, and syncs your experience across devices.

9. How We Use Your Information

We use your information (subject to the choices you make) to:

Provide, Personalize, and Improve Currently

We personalize your Moment feed, MomentSwipe, and suggestions (accounts to connect with, Places to visit, Events to join) using your connections, interests, Hypes, comments, swipes, viewing patterns, and activity on Currently.

Run Core Mechanics

We use your posting activity to run features like the 24-hour rule (your feed locks if you have not posted in 24 hours), activity badges, streaks, C-Rank, leaderboards, and Currently Coins rewards.

Process Rewards, Orders, and Payments

We use your financial, identity, and delivery information to process withdrawals, verify identity, deliver products, issue vouchers, handle replacements and refunds, and meet tax and legal obligations.

Work Across Your Devices

We connect information across your devices so your Currently experience stays consistent wherever you log in.

Location-Based Features

We use location information as described in Section 4.

Research and Development

We use information to develop, test, and improve our products, including surveys, research, and troubleshooting.

Safety, Integrity, and Security

We use information to verify accounts and Moments, detect fake accounts, duplicate Moments, referral fraud, and coin fraud, prevent spam, investigate violations of our Terms and Community Guidelines, and keep the community safe, in chats, comments, and everywhere else on the Platform.

Communicate With You

We send you transactional notifications (OTPs, withdrawal and order updates, security alerts), activity notifications (Hypes, comments, chats, streak reminders, feed lock alerts, Plan and Event updates), and promotional messages, through push notifications, SMS, email, WhatsApp, or in-app messages. You can manage activity and promotional notifications in your settings; transactional messages are essential and stay on. We also use your information to respond when you contact us.

In simple words

Your data powers your feed, your rewards, your orders, the map, and your safety. It also helps us build a better app and keep you informed.

10. Automated Systems and AI

We use automated systems, including artificial intelligence models, to:

  • Review Moments, comments, and reported content for violations of our Community Guidelines (for example, detecting harmful, fake, or low-quality content).
  • Scan chats for spam, malicious links, and safety threats (not for reading your conversations).
  • Detect bots, fake accounts, referral fraud, and fraudulent coin or withdrawal activity.
  • Rank and personalize your feed, MomentSwipe, and suggestions.

Automated decisions that significantly affect you, such as content removal, reward cancellation, or withdrawal denial, can be appealed. Write to support@currently.club and a human will review your case.

In simple words

AI helps us keep Currently clean, safe, and personalized. If an automated decision feels wrong, appeal it and a human will check.

11. How Your Information Is Shared

Sharing You Control on Currently

When you post a Moment, you choose the audience: public, all friends, or a custom close group. When you chat, the people in the chat see your messages. When you comment, everyone who can see that Moment sees your comment. Your network can see actions you take, such as Hypes on Moments. Accounts can see who viewed and Hyped their Moments. When you join Plans and Events, other participants can see you joined.

Public information can be seen by anyone, on or off Currently, even without an account. This includes your username, public profile information (including your web profile at currently.club/@yourusername, as per your settings), leaderboard appearances, and anything you share publicly. Public content may also appear through search engines, APIs, and services that integrate with Currently.

Content Others Share About You

Think carefully about who you share with. People who can see your Moment or receive your message can screenshot, download, or reshare it, on or off Currently. When you comment on or Hype someone's Moment, your action is visible to whoever can see that Moment, and they can change the audience later.

Others can also create content about you, such as posting a photo of you, tagging you, or mentioning you at a location. If you are uncomfortable with content about you, you can remove the tag or report the content.

Active Status

People in your network can see whether you are currently active on Currently and when you last used it, as per your settings.

Third-Party Apps and Integrations

If you import or export content through third-party apps or websites, we collect the data you share through them. If you share Currently content (like Plan links or your profile link) to other platforms such as WhatsApp, that platform's policies apply to what you share there.

Third-Party Partners

We work with partners who help us run Currently. We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we never will. We put strict restrictions on how partners use the data we share. Partner categories:

  • Analytics services: We provide aggregated statistics that help people and businesses understand engagement with their content, such as views, reactions, and aggregate demographics. These reports do not identify you personally.
  • Advertisers and measurement services: To show you relevant ads, we use information about your interests. We do not share data that personally identifies you (like your name or contact details) with advertisers without your permission. We share aggregate campaign data like reach and demographics, without revealing your identity. Advertisers must agree to our advertiser terms.
  • Payment and payout partners: Banks, payment processors, and payout service providers, to process your withdrawals.
  • Logistics and fulfilment partners: Brands, sellers, and courier partners, who receive your name, delivery address, and contact number to fulfil and deliver your Coin Store orders.
  • Voucher partners: Brands and voucher aggregators, to issue and honor the gift vouchers you redeem.
  • Event organizers: For events you join, organizers may receive your RSVP details to manage the event.
  • Vendors and service providers: Companies that provide technical infrastructure (such as cloud hosting on AWS and Google Cloud Platform, and media processing), analytics, customer service, communication delivery (SMS, WhatsApp, email, push), and surveys.
  • Researchers and academics: For research that advances public interest, technology, health, and well-being.

Law Enforcement and Legal Requests

We share information with law enforcement or in response to legal requests where required. To prevent and detect fraud and illegal activity, we may preserve and share your data for legal investigations and to protect users or the public from harm.

In simple words

You control your audience. Public means truly public. We never sell your data. We share only what is needed with payment, delivery, voucher, and event partners to serve you, and with authorities when the law requires.

12. Your Rights Under Law

Under the DPDP Act, 2023 and other applicable laws, you have the right to:

  • Access: Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed.
  • Correction: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data. You can edit most profile data yourself in the app.
  • Erasure: Ask us to delete your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Withdraw consent: Withdraw any consent you gave (for example, contacts or location access) anytime. Withdrawal does not affect processing done before withdrawal.
  • Grievance redressal: Complain to our Grievance Officer (Section 19). If unsatisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
  • Nomination: Nominate a person who can exercise your rights in case of your death or incapacity.

To exercise any right, use the in-app settings or email support@currently.club.

In simple words

The law gives you real power over your data. You can see it, fix it, delete it, take back permissions, and complain if we get it wrong.

13. How to Manage or Delete Your Information

You can manage your data through Settings and editing tools in the Currently app:

  • Moment Preferences: Tap the globe button at the top of the Moment screen to set your sharing audience: Public, Private, or a custom group.
  • Profile Information: Go to your profile and tap the pen icon on your profile picture to edit your details.
  • General Settings: Tap the settings button at the top of your Profile page to manage permissions, notifications, location sharing, and privacy controls.
  • Chats and comments: You can delete your own messages and comments as per the options available in the app.

In simple words

Everything is in your Settings. Change your audience, edit your profile, and control permissions anytime.

14. Delete Account

Permanent action

Deleting your account is permanent.

When you delete your account:

  • Your profile stops appearing anywhere on Currently.
  • Your Moments, photos, and posts are deleted, and you cannot recover them.
  • You lose your followers, username, Moments, streaks, C-Rank, and any unredeemed Currently Coins.
  • Content you shared with others may remain visible to them (for example, messages you sent and comments on others' Moments), but it will no longer be linked to your identity where deletion applies.
  • Pending withdrawals or orders at the time of deletion may be cancelled. Redeem your coins and complete your orders before deleting.

In simple words

Delete means delete. Your profile, posts, followers, rank, and coins are gone for good. Redeem your coins and finish pending orders before deleting.

15. Data Retention

We store your data only as long as it is needed to provide our services, or until you delete your account, whichever comes first. Retention depends on the nature of the data, why it was collected, and legal or operational requirements. For example:

  • Content, chat, and profile data: deleted when you delete your account, subject to the notes in Section 14.
  • Financial and verification records (PAN, bank details, withdrawal history, order and tax records): retained as long as required under tax, accounting, and anti-fraud laws, even after account deletion.
  • Legal hold data: retained if required for an ongoing investigation or legal obligation.

In simple words

We keep data only as long as needed. Some financial and order records must stay longer because tax and fraud laws say so.

16. Data Security and Storage

Your data is stored securely on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform servers, and is therefore also subject to their security and privacy standards. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Sensitive data such as bank details and identity documents receive additional protection.

No platform can guarantee 100% security. Protect your account by keeping your device secure and never sharing your OTP with anyone. Currently will never ask for your OTP over a call or message.

In simple words

Your data sits on trusted, secure cloud servers, with extra protection for bank and ID details. Do your part too: never share your OTP.

17. Child Safety

We are committed to protecting children on our platform.

Minimum Age

Age 13+ only

Currently is for people aged 13 and above. Users under 13 cannot create accounts or use the app.

Parental Consent for Minors

For users between 13 and 18, verifiable consent of a parent or legal guardian is required, as per the DPDP Act, 2023. We also encourage parents and guardians to actively guide their child's use of the app. Certain features, including coin withdrawals, require adult identity verification.

Protection of Children's Data

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that data of a child under 13 has been collected without verified parental consent, we will delete it promptly. We do not use children's data for targeted advertising or behavioral tracking where the law prohibits it.

Reporting

If inappropriate content or interactions involving children are reported, we investigate immediately and take action, including notifying authorities where required. Use the in-app report feature or email support@currently.club.

Safety Tips for Parents and Guardians

  • Talk to your children about online privacy and safety.
  • Keep communication open about their online activity.
  • Use our reporting tools for any concern.

In simple words

Under 13 is not allowed. 13 to 18 needs parental consent. We protect kids' data and act fast on any report involving children.

18. Policy Change Notifications

We will notify you before we make material changes to this Policy and give you the chance to review the revised Policy before you continue using Currently. Notifications may be through the app, email, or private message. The revised policy takes effect from its published date.

In simple words

If we change this policy in a big way, we will tell you first.

19. Grievance Officer and Contact

For questions, concerns, or complaints about this policy or your data, contact our Grievance Officer:

Mr. Mitesh Shethwala

  • Address: 406, C block PNTC, Times Of India Press Rd, Vejalpur, Ahmedabad, Gujarat 380015
  • Office Hours: 10:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.
  • Email: support@currently.club

We will resolve grievances within 15 (fifteen) days of receipt, in line with applicable law. If you are not satisfied with our resolution, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

In simple words

Data problem? Email us. We will fix it within 15 days. Still unhappy? The Data Protection Board of India is your next stop.

Part B: Intellectual Property

20. Copyright Infringement Notice

Currently prohibits content that infringes copyright. If you believe your copyrighted work has been posted on Currently without authorization, you may submit a copyright infringement notification.

Your notification must include:

  • Your details: Name of person or entity, email address, physical address, and phone number, so we and the uploader can reach you. Authorized representatives must attach an authorization letter.
  • Description of the work: A clear and complete description of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed.
  • Proof of ownership: Preliminary proof such as a copyright certificate from an authorized institution, or material showing the publication date of your work.
  • Location of infringement: The URL or other identifying location of the infringing content, and how it infringes your work.
  • Good faith statement: A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by you, your agent, or law.
  • Accuracy declaration: A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act for the owner.
  • Signature: Your physical or electronic signature. Typing your full legal name at the bottom satisfies this.

Submit to

support@currently.club

Information in your notification (including your name, address, phone, and email) may be forwarded to the person who posted the allegedly infringing work.

Counter-Notification Process (Copyright)

If we receive a valid infringement notification, we will take reasonable steps to contact the uploader, who may submit a counter-notification. During this process, we will remove or disable access to the disputed content until the matter is resolved.

A valid counter-notification must include:

  • Your full legal name, email, physical address, and phone number. Representatives must provide an authorization letter.
  • The location (URL) of the removed or disabled work.
  • Preliminary proof that there is no infringement, such as your own certificate of rights or material showing your publication date.
  • This statement: "I consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of India for the district in which my address is located, or if my address is outside of India, the judicial district in which Currently is located, and will accept service of process from the claimant."
  • Your physical or electronic signature (typed full legal name of a person, not a company).

Submit to

support@currently.club

The counter-notification process may take up to 10 business days. During this time, the claimant may seek a court order to keep the content down. We will forward the entire counter-notice to the claimant, including your personal information, and it may be made public. The claimant may use it to file a lawsuit. Re-posting any work is at Currently's sole discretion.

In simple words

If someone stole your work and posted it on Currently, email us with proof. If your post was removed and you believe it is yours, you can counter with proof. We remove disputed content while it is being resolved.

21. Trademark Infringement Notice

Currently prohibits content that infringes trademarks. Using someone's trademark without authorization or a legal basis is infringement. We may ask you for evidence proving your right to use a mark.

If you believe your trademark has been posted on Currently without authorization, submit a notification with:

  • Your details: Name of person or entity, email, physical address, or phone number. Representatives need an authorization letter.
  • Description of the trademark: A clear and complete description of the infringed mark, with preliminary proof such as a trademark certificate from an authorized institution.
  • Location of infringement: The URL or identifying location of the infringing content, and how it infringes your mark.
  • Good faith statement: That you believe the use is not authorized by you, your agent, or law.
  • Accuracy declaration: Under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act.
  • Signature and/or seal: Your full legal name at the bottom of the notification.

Submit to

support@currently.club

Information in your notification may be forwarded to the person who posted the allegedly infringing content.

Counter-Notification Process (Trademark)

Same process as copyright counter-notifications (Section 20): we contact the uploader, remove or disable the disputed content during the dispute, and the uploader may counter with proof of rights, the India jurisdiction consent statement, and their signature. The process may take up to 10 business days, the full counter-notice is forwarded to the claimant, and re-posting is at our sole discretion.

In simple words

Same rules as copyright, but for brand names and logos. Complain with proof, counter with proof, and we hold the content while it is decided.

22. Repeated Infringement

Content that infringes third-party intellectual property will be deleted. Accounts with multiple infringement violations, or repeated breaches of the Terms of Use or Community Guidelines, may be suspended or terminated.

In simple words

Steal content repeatedly and you lose your account.

23. General Considerations

  • You are responsible for what you upload. If you are unsure whether material infringes someone's rights, seek legal advice before posting or before filing a claim.
  • If your infringement notice turns out to be untrue, you bear all responsibility and must compensate for losses caused, including compensation Currently pays to third parties and harm to Currently's reputation or goodwill.
  • We may contact you about your report. Currently cannot adjudicate disputes between third parties and may not always be able to delete alleged content or accounts.
  • Notices and counter-notices must be in English. We may, at our discretion, decline non-English notices.
  • Think before you file. There are legal and financial consequences for fraudulent or bad-faith submissions, whether you are the claimant or the uploader. Be sure you are the actual rights holder, that your belief is in good faith, and that you understand the consequences of a false claim.

In simple words

File honestly. False complaints have real legal and financial consequences.
