Sharing Moments

Send to a chat (in-app)

Updated

Share a moment directly inside Currently — to one friend or a group.

Sending to a friend

  1. Open the share sheet on a moment (tap the share icon).
  2. In Row 1, scroll the horizontal list of avatars to find the friend.
  3. Tap their avatar.
  4. A small confirmation appears: Sent to {Name}.
  5. That's it — the moment lands in their chat with you.

Sending to multiple friends at once

  1. Tap multiple avatars in Row 1 — each one gets a green check overlay.
  2. Below the avatar list, a Send button appears with the count (e.g., Send (3)).
  3. Tap Send to fire the moment to all selected friends.

Sending to a group chat

If you have group chats — like a plan group chat — they appear in the avatar row too, marked with a small group icon. Tap to send to the whole group.

The Chat button

If your friend isn't in the top avatars, tap Chat in Row 2. This opens your Chats tab so you can pick anyone — friend, group, recent chat — and send.

Moment inside a chat. When you send a moment to a chat, it appears as a card with the photo, the user's name, and the activity verb. The recipient can tap it to open the full moment — or react and reply right inside the chat.

What the recipient sees

The moment shows up in your chat thread as a card:

  • Original poster's name + activity (e.g., Khushi is drinking)
  • Thumbnail of the moment
  • Time posted
  • Tap-to-open — full moment opens in the feed view

Above the card, your message box is open so you can add a quick comment before or after sending — "Yaar, dekh ye!" etc.

FAQs — Send to a chat

Q. Will the original poster know I shared their moment?

A. They get a notification that someone shared their moment, but not who you shared it with or to which chat. Their identity is protected on the share — it's their moment that gets shown around, not their chat list.

Q. Can I undo a moment I sent in chat?

A. Yes — long-press the chat bubble and tap Delete for everyone. This removes the moment from both your side and the recipient's side. Available for a limited time after sending (usually 1 hour).

Q. Can I send a moment to someone who doesn't follow me?

A. Yes — sharing a public moment in chat works regardless of follow status. The recipient just needs to be someone you can chat with (i.e., not blocked, and your messaging settings allow it).

Q. Why can't I find my friend in the avatar row?

A. Row 1 shows your most-active chats and friends. If you haven't talked to your friend in a while, they may not be in the top set. Tap Chat to see the full chat list and find them there.

Q. Can I share to a group chat I'm not the admin of?

A. Yes — anyone in a group chat can share moments to it. There's no admin restriction on sharing.
