Activity filters, Spotlight, See More, and how to discover moments by what people are doing.
Open the Moments tab
- Open Search from the bottom navigation.
- Make sure Moments is selected (the leftmost tab).
- You'll see a discovery feed of moments — defaulting to the All filter.
Activity filter pills
Below the tab row, a horizontal scroll of activity pills appears:
Filter pills — with icons.
AllEatingWorkingTravelingDrinkingPlayingSee More ▶
Tap any pill to filter the feed by that activity. Tap See More to expand and pick from the full list of activities (Attending, Baking, Celebrating, Cleaning, Doing, Drinking, Eating, Enjoying, etc.).
The Spotlight section
Above the moment cards, a section labeled SPOTLIGHT highlights the best moments matching your filter. Spotlight cards have a small badge icons row in the top right (popularity / trending indicators).
What makes a Spotlight moment? Spotlight moments are picked by Currently based on engagement (reactions, comments, shares) and freshness. They're the best of what's happening right now in that activity category.
The compact moment card
Moments in the search feed use a more compact layout than your home feed. Each card shows:
- Avatar + name + activity verb — e.g., Khushi is drinking — 5 min Stalking
- Thumbnail of the moment (photo or video)
- Status pill if active (e.g., Stalking in green)
Tap any card to open the full moment in detail.
Filtering with the activity picker
Beyond the visible pills, tapping the magnifier at the top-right of the Moments tab opens the full Activity picker (same as in posting and plans). Pick a deeper filter like Attending - Wedding, and the feed updates with chips at the top:
Filter chips applied.
Wedding✕ Clear All. Tap the✕to remove a single chip, or Clear All to reset.
FAQs — Searching for moments
Q. Why don't I see all my friends' moments here?
A. The Moments tab in Search shows public moments from across Currently — not specifically your friends. To see only your friends' moments, go to your Home feed → Friends tab.
Q. How does Currently pick what shows in Spotlight?
A. Spotlight is algorithmic — based on engagement (reactions, comments, shares), recency, and quality signals. You can't manually request to be in Spotlight.
Q. Can I filter by multiple activities at once?
A. You can apply multiple activity chips, and Currently shows moments matching any of them. So filtering for both Eating and Drinking shows moments tagged with either.
Q. Why are some Spotlight moments older than others?
A. Spotlight prioritizes engagement over pure recency. A moment with strong engagement from earlier in the day may stay in Spotlight longer than fresh, less-engaged ones.
Q. Can I turn off Spotlight in my Search feed?
A. Not directly. Spotlight is part of the discovery experience. To skip it, scroll past — the regular feed continues below.
