Recent searches, Delete All, and how to keep your history private.
What's in your history
Every time you search for something on Currently, it's saved to your History. The next time you open the search bar, you'll see them at the top before typing anything.
Where to find History
- Open the search bar (from any Search tab, tap the icon top-right).
- Below the search field, scroll past Discover Activity.
- You'll see a section labeled History with two action buttons on the right: Delete All and Done.
- Below the labels, your recent searches appear as chips.

Tapping a history chip
Tap any chip to re-run that search — the same results that showed up before will load again. Saves you re-typing.
Removing one search
Each chip has a small ✕ on the right. Tap the X to remove just that one item from history. The rest stay.
Removing everything
- Tap Delete All at the top-right of the History section.
- All your recent searches are cleared instantly.
- History rebuilds the next time you search.
Backup — tap Done to exit edit mode. If you tapped a chip's
✕by accident, Done at the top-right closes edit mode without deleting more. Or just back out of search.
Privacy of search history
Your search history is only visible to you — nobody else sees what you've searched. Currently doesn't share search activity with friends, the original posters whose moments you searched, or anyone else.
Does searching notify the person? No. If you search for someone's name and visit their profile, it counts as a profile view (visible to them in their
10 views todaycount). But the search query itself — what you typed — is private to you.
FAQs — Search history
Q. How long does Currently keep my search history?
A. Recent searches stay for several weeks before automatically aging out. If you want them gone immediately, tap Delete All.
Q. If I delete history, does Currently still use it for personalization?
A. Currently uses search activity to make Discover Activity suggestions and Recommended Friends better. Deleting your history clears the visible chips, but past activity may still influence recommendations for a few days.
Q. Can I export my search history?
A. Not directly. If you need a record of your searches (for personal reasons), screenshot the History section before tapping Delete All.
Q. Will my deleted searches come back?
A. Searches you delete don't come back. New searches you do after deleting build a fresh history.
Q. Why does my history sometimes reorder?
A. Currently shows your most-recently used searches first. Re-running a search (tapping a chip) bumps it to the top of the list.
