WHO'S HERE RIGHT NOW
This is one of Currently's signature features a real-time list of users checked into the place at this moment. Each avatar represents someone currently there. Tap one to open their profile.
Privacy of 'Who's Here'. Only users who have Live Location turned on (Profile → Privacy & Safety → Live Location) appear in WHO'S HERE RIGHT NOW. If a user has Live Location off, they don't show up here even when at the place.
The Visitors / Moments tabs
Below the action row, two big tabs let you switch between:
Visitors tab
Lists everyone who's been to this place. Each row shows:
- Avatar + name
- Current activity (e.g., Now • Eating)
- Their home location (e.g., Vejalpur, Ahmedabad)
- Visit count (e.g.,
5x) — how many times they've checked in here
Moments tab
Shows public moments posted from this place — same compact card layout as the search Moments feed. Tap any moment to open it.
The Everyone / Friends / Top filters
Within the Visitors tab, three sub-tabs filter the list:
- Everyone — all visitors (default)
- Friends — only people you follow
- Top — most-frequent visitors (highest visit counts)
Checking in
Tap the + Check-in button to start a moment posting flow with the place pre-tagged. Camera opens, you capture, the place name and address are already set in the post.
Check-ins build your profile. Every check-in counts toward your Top Places and Signature Spots on your profile. The more times you visit and post from a place, the more likely it shows up as one of your favorites.
FAQs — Place detail pages
Q. Why does WHO'S HERE RIGHT NOW show 0 people sometimes?
A. Either no one is currently at this place, or no one with Live Location turned on is here. Try checking again later, or share your live location to be the first to be visible.
Q. Can I message someone from the visitor list?
A. Tap their avatar to open their profile. From there, you can send a message via the Message button (subject to their messaging settings).
Q. What does '5x' mean next to a visitor's name?
A. That's their visit count — how many times they've checked in at this place. Higher numbers mean they're regulars.
Q. How does Currently know a place is open or closed?
A. Currently uses business hours data (similar to Google Maps). The Open/Closed status updates based on local time. If hours are wrong, the place's data may need updating — let us know via support.
Q. Why can't I see who's here at a private place (like someone's home)?
A. Currently doesn't track or surface visits at private locations. Live tracking is only for public/registered places (restaurants, cafes, gyms, etc.).
Q. Can I check in without taking a moment?
A. Right now, check-in always involves capturing a moment — that's how Currently keeps check-ins authentic. To just bookmark the place, tap Save instead from the action row (or the share menu).
