Moments / People / Places — your entry point to find everything.
Open the Search tab
- From any screen, tap the Search icon (looks like a stack of squares with a magnifier) in the bottom navigation bar.
- The Search hub opens, defaulting to the Moments tab.
Three top-level tabs
At the top of the Search screen, three tabs let you flip between what you're looking for:
| Tab | What you find |
|---|---|
| Moments | A discovery feed of moments — filtered by activity. Default tab. |
| People | Friends, Contacts on Currently, Currently Stars, and people to invite |
| Places | Restaurants, cafes, hotels, sports venues — places to check into |
The magnifier in the top-right
On the Moments tab, a small magnifier icon sits in the top-right corner. Tap it to open the Activity picker — the same one you'd see when posting a moment or creating a plan.
This is how you filter the Moments tab by activity (e.g., show only Eating moments, or only Playing - Cricket moments). Once you pick, the feed updates to show matching moments only.
Why activity filtering matters. On Currently, every moment is tagged with an activity. Filtering by activity is the fastest way to discover content you actually care about — show me everyone playing cricket today, or everyone at a wedding right now.
Switching tabs
- Tap any tab name (Moments / People / Places) to switch.
- The active tab is shown with a green underline.
- Each tab remembers your last position — so flipping back doesn't lose your scroll spot.
FAQs — Search tabs
Q. Why does the Search tab default to Moments instead of People?
A. Most users open Search to discover content (moments) first, and look for specific people second. Moments shows a personalized discovery feed; People is for targeted finding.
Q. Can I change the default tab?
A. Right now, the default is Moments. We may add a setting to customize this in future updates.
Q. Is the Moments tab the same as my home feed?
A. No — your home feed shows moments from people you follow (curated). The Search → Moments tab is a discovery feed showing public moments from across Currently, often filtered by activity. They serve different purposes.
Q. Why is the People tab empty?
A. If you're new to Currently and haven't followed anyone, the People tab will mostly show Invite Friends suggestions. As you connect with friends and they connect back, your People tab fills up with Contacts, Add Friends, and Stars.
