The Invite banner
At the top of the People tab, you'll often see a banner like this:

Tap the QR icon (or anywhere on the banner) to open the Invite share sheet with multiple ways to invite friends.
Quick share buttons
Below the banner (or on the QR sheet), a row of icons lets you share your invite via:

Match Contacts to find friends
If you haven't connected your contacts yet, the People tab shows:
MATCH CONTACTS TO FIND FRIENDS. Your contacts stay 100% secure & private. Button: FIND FRIENDS.
- Tap FIND FRIENDS.
- Your phone asks for Contacts permission — tap Allow.
- Currently scans your contacts (privately, on-device) to find existing Currently users.
- The Contacts on Currently and Invite Friends sections fill in with results.
Contacts privacy. Currently never uploads your raw phone contacts. The matching uses secure hashing — phone numbers are converted to opaque hashes on your phone, and only those hashes are checked against existing user hashes. Your contacts list stays on your device.
Inviting one friend at a time
In the Invite Friends section, each contact has a green + button. Tap it to:
- Open SMS / WhatsApp / your default messaging app
- With a pre-filled message including your
Cntly.me/{username}link - Edit the message if you want, then send
If they install Currently using your link, you both earn 100 coins.
Inviting many at once
To invite multiple people in one share:
- Tap the SHARE quick-share button at the top of the People tab.
- The system share sheet opens.
- Pick a group chat (WhatsApp group, family group) or multiple recipients.
- Send. Everyone in the group gets your invite link.
FAQs — Inviting from search
Q. Why doesn't FIND FRIENDS work?
A. Make sure your phone's Contacts permission is granted to Currently (Settings → Currently → Contacts). If it's blocked, tapping FIND FRIENDS won't work.
Q. Will my friends know I matched them?
A. No. Matching happens privately. Your contacts who are already on Currently just appear in your Contacts on Currently section — they don't get a notification you found them.
Q. Can I un-link my contacts from Currently?
A. Yes — go to Settings → Privacy & Safety → Contacts → Unlink. The Contacts on Currently section will disappear.
Q. Why doesn't every contact appear in Invite Friends?
A. Currently filters out contacts that are clearly not personal (business cards, automated entries, etc.). If a real friend isn't there, ask them for their phone number directly and add them manually to your contacts.
Q. If I invite the same friend multiple times, do I get extra coins?
A. Coins are awarded once per friend who joins. Multiple invites to the same person don't multiply the coins. (And it can be annoying — invite once, wait for them to join.)
