Who you actually hang out with — based on shared moments.
Best Friends block
On your profile, the BEST FRIENDS — SEEN TOGETHER card shows the people you appear with most often in moments. It auto-builds based on:
- Tagged together in the same moment (you in their post, them in yours)
- Joined the same plans as you
- Visited the same places at the same time
The label says most frequent people under the heading. Below it, you see avatars of the top 5 friends, with their first names underneath.
When this is empty
Empty state. BEST FRIENDS — SEEN TOGETHER — No one seen together yet. Add friends, post moments at shared places, and join plans together — the system will catch on.
Tapping the block
Tap VIEW ALL in the top-right of the Best Friends block to see your full Seen Together list, ranked by count. Each row shows:
- Avatar, name, username
- Activity tag (e.g.,
Eating,Shopping,Dancing) - Last seen-together time (
2hr ago,1d ago) - Visit count badge (e.g.,
15x,10x,5x)
Best Friends updates slowly. This isn't a real-time count. Currently aggregates seen-together data over weeks. So if you spent a weekend with someone, expect them to show up a few days later — not immediately.
FAQs — Best Friends
Q. Can I manually add someone as a best friend?
A. No — the list is auto-generated based on shared moments and plans. The point is to surface real-life closeness, not curated lists. For a curated inner circle, see Close Friends.
Q. My partner / sibling isn't on my Best Friends list. Why?
A. Currently needs shared moments or plans on the app to detect closeness. If you're together a lot in real life but neither of you posts about it, the data isn't there. Tag each other in moments to help the system pick up on it.
Q. Why is someone I barely know on my Best Friends?
A. They're probably tagged in a lot of your moments or you've joined the same plans often. The algorithm uses observable signals — it doesn't know you barely know them.
Q. Can I remove someone from my Best Friends?
A. There's no manual remove. The list updates over time — if you stop appearing with them in moments and plans, they'll drop off.
Q. Is my Best Friends list visible to others?
A. Yes — it's part of your profile. Anyone who can see your profile can see who your most-frequent people are.
