How Do I Make My Profile Public or Private?

Updated

Profile privacy on Currently determines who can access your profile and follow you. You can choose between two settings: Public or Private.

Public Profile

With a public profile, "anyone can visit your profile" and "anyone can follow you without approval." Your public moments are visible to everyone, though close friends and private moments remain restricted. This option works best if you want to be discoverable and engage with the broader community.

Private Profile

A private profile requires approval for new followers. "Only approved followers can view your profile" and those who aren't followers cannot see your moments or activity. This setting suits personal use and maintaining a smaller, trusted audience.

How to Change Your Setting

  1. Access the Currently app
  2. Navigate to your profile
  3. Tap Settings
  4. Select Profile Visibility
  5. Choose either Public or Private

The change takes effect immediately.

Key Points

Profile and moment privacy work together — your profile setting acts as the outer boundary. For example, "private profile always limits reach, even for public moments."

Importantly, switching between settings has no impact on streaks, coins, or badges. You can change anytime without penalties, and your existing moments automatically follow the new profile rule.
