- Notification — direct invite from a friend

What happens next depends on privacy
Public plan
You're in instantly. A success modal appears:
YOU'RE IN! — Watching - Movie plan by Vipin Kumar. With avatars of joined members and an Open Chat button.
Tap Open Chat to jump into the plan group chat.
Private plan
Your tap creates a request. The button changes to Requested with a clock icon. The organizer sees it in their {N} Requested sheet and decides.
If approved → push notification: "You're in! Open chat to coordinate."
If declined → no clear push. The plan just stays on Requested indefinitely. After a while, you can assume it's not happening for you.
Adding to your calendar
Below the plan details, two buttons let you save the date:
- Google cal — adds to Google Calendar
- Apple cal — adds to Apple Calendar
Tapping either opens your calendar app with all plan details pre-filled (title, location, time).
Getting directions
Tap Get Directions to open Google Maps (or Apple Maps) with directions from your current location to the plan venue. Useful right before heading out.
FAQs — Joining plans
Q. Can I leave a plan after joining?
A. Yes. Open the plan and tap Leave Plan (the I'm in button changes after you've joined). You'll be removed from the joined list and the group chat.
Q. Will the organizer know I left?
A. They'll see your name disappear from the joined list. They don't get a push, but the chat will show that you left.
Q. How do I know if I was approved for a Private plan?
A. You'll get a push notification when approved. The plan also moves from Requested to Joined state with the I'm in button changing to Open Chat.
Q. What does the time say T-2 hrs ago mean on someone's profile?
A. It means 2 hours from now — Currently uses T-minus / T-plus notation for plans (T-2hrs = 2 hrs to go, T+1hr = started 1 hr ago).
Q. Can I join a plan that's already started?
A. Yes — most plans stay joinable up to the end time. Only the organizer can lock joining earlier (e.g., if there's a hard cap).
Q. Why is the I'm in button gray?
A. The plan is full (max members reached), it's been cancelled, or it's a Private plan you haven't been invited to. Pull-to-refresh, or contact the organizer.
