Currently can match your contacts to people already on the app.
How it works
- On the See who's already on Currently screen, tap Yes, find my friends →.
- Your phone will ask: "Currently would like to access your contacts." Tap Continue.
- Currently checks your contacts and finds friends who are already on the app.
- On the Friends on Currently screen, you'll see a list of matches. Tap the green + next to any name to follow them, or tap Follow the whole Squad → to follow all of them at once.
Don't want to share contacts?
That's fine. Tap Skip in the top-right corner to continue without sharing your contacts. You can always do this later from your profile.
What we do with your contacts. We match phone numbers to find friends already on Currently. We don't store your full contact list, send messages to your contacts, or share their info publicly. Private. Secure. No spam.
If no friends are on Currently yet
Don't worry — instead of the friends list, you'll see the Invite & Earn screen. You can invite friends via WhatsApp or SMS, and you'll earn 100 coins for every friend who joins.
FAQs — Contacts and friends
Q. Will Currently message all my contacts?
A. No. We never send messages to your contacts on your behalf. We only check which numbers are already on Currently, so you can choose who to follow.
Q. Are my contacts shared with other users?
A. No. Your contact list is private — only you see who's matched. Other users can't see your contacts.
Q. How do I undo following someone?
A. Go to their profile and tap Following (it'll change to Follow). They won't be notified.
Q. I tapped Skip by accident. How do I find friends now?
A. Open the app, go to Profile → Find Friends to re-run the contact match. You'll be asked for contact permission again.
Q. How does 'Invite & Earn' work?
A. For every contact who joins Currently using your invite, you both get 100 coins (equal to ₹10). The more friends you invite, the more coins you earn.
Q. Can I delete my contacts from Currently's servers?
A. Yes. Go to Settings → Privacy & Safety → Delete Contact Data to remove your synced contacts. After deletion, you'll need to re-sync if you want friend matching again.
