How to fill it out
- On the I am screen, tap one of three options: Male, Female, or Other.
- Below, in the My birthday is section, type your day (DD), month (MM), and year (YYYY).
- Once everything is filled in, the button at the bottom changes to I'm {your age} years old → in green.
- If your age looks right, tap the button to continue.
13+ only. Currently is for users 13 years and older. If your birthday makes you younger than 13, you won't be able to create an account. This is a safety policy and applies to everyone.
FAQs — Gender and birthday
Q. Why does Currently need my birthday?
A. Two reasons: (1) we need to confirm you're 13 or older, which is required for our app, and (2) we use your age (not your full birthday) to recommend better content. We never share your full birthday with other users.
Q. Will my birthday be visible on my profile?
A. Only your age is shown on your profile (and only if you choose to display it). Your full date of birth is never visible to other users.
Q. Can I change my birthday after signup?
A. Birthday changes are limited because we use them to verify age. If you entered the wrong date, contact our support team through the Help section in the app.
Q. Why doesn't 'Other' have more options?
A. We're keeping gender simple at signup. We may add more inclusive options in profile settings later. For now, Other covers everything that isn't Male or Female.
Q. I'm under 13. Can I still join?
A. No. Currently is strictly for users 13 and older. Please come back when you're old enough — we'll be here.

A. Yes. Your birthday is stored securely and used only for age verification and personalization. See Your privacy on Currently for details.
