Posting your own moment

Updated

Use the camera, tag your activity, add a location, and share with your squad.

How to post a moment

  1. Tap the + button at the bottom-right of the home screen.
  2. The camera opens. Take a photo or video of what you're doing right now.
  3. Pick an activity verb (e.g., Drinking - Coffee) at the top — this becomes your status.
  4. Add a caption below your photo: Say something about this moment...
  5. Tag friends with @username — a list pops up while you type so you can pick them quickly.
  6. Tap Add Location to tag the place you're at (optional but recommended).
  7. Set who can see this moment: Everyone, Close Friends, or Private.
  8. Tap Save (or the post button) to share.

Camera-only. Currently is a camera-only app. You can't upload photos from your gallery for moments — every moment must be captured fresh. This keeps the feed real and in-the-moment.

Tagging friends with @ mentions

  1. In the caption field, type @ followed by their name.
  2. A Mention dropdown opens with suggestions, e.g., Lina Zhang @lina_2807, Priya Sharma @priya_2807.
  3. Tap a suggestion to add the mention.
  4. They'll get a notification that you tagged them.

Adding a location

  1. Below the caption field, tap Add Location.
  2. Search for the place or pick one nearby.
  3. Tap to select. The location appears at the bottom of your moment.

FAQs — Posting moments

Q. Why can't I upload a photo from my gallery?

A. Currently is camera-only — every moment is taken in real time. This keeps the app honest. If you want to share something already in your gallery, you'll need to take a fresh photo of it (e.g., a screenshot from your phone screen).

Q. Can I edit a moment after posting?

A. Yes. Tap the more-options menu on your own moment and tap Edit Moment. You can change the caption, location, and visibility, but not the photo itself.

Q. How do I delete a moment?

A. Tap the more-options menu on your moment and tap Delete Moment. You'll be asked why (this is just feedback for us). See Managing your own moments for full details.

Q. Can I post a moment without tagging an activity?

A. No — the activity verb (Drinking, Eating, Playing, etc.) is required. It's the heart of what Currently is. Pick one that fits, even if it's general like Stalking for casual scrolling.

Q. Can I post the same moment to Friends and Plans?

A. Each moment goes into your home feed. Plans are a separate kind of post for upcoming activities. To post a plan, look for the Plans-specific posting flow inside the Plans tab.

Q. Why does the location say it's far from where I actually am?

A. Currently uses the GPS reading from your phone. If your GPS is inaccurate (indoors, weak signal), the location might be off. Tap Add Location to manually pick the right place.
