How to use the comment composer at the bottom of the comments panel.

The comment composer

At the bottom of the comments panel, you'll see a Say something... text field. Three icons sit next to it:

IconWhat it does
@Tag a user with @username. A list opens for you to pick from.
SmileyOpen the emoji picker.
GIFOpen the GIPHY search to add an animated GIF.

Posting a regular comment

  1. Tap the Say something... field.
  2. The keyboard opens, and a green send button appears on the right.
  3. Type your comment. (Currently supports Hinglish — type in English or Hindi, both work.)
  4. Tap the green send button to send.

Replying to a specific comment

  1. Tap Reply under the comment you want to reply to.
  2. The composer auto-fills with @username of the person you're replying to.
  3. Type your reply and tap send.
  4. Your reply nests under the original comment.

Replying to a longer thread

If you tap Reply on a comment that's already part of a back-and-forth, the composer automatically pulls in the context of that conversation, e.g., @harshil15 Cricket vibes on point today followed by Next Virat Kohli loading... so the new reply has clear context.

Tagging someone with @

  1. Tap the @ icon next to the field, or type @ in your comment.
  2. Start typing the user's name.
  3. Pick from the suggestions dropdown.
  4. Their handle appears highlighted in blue. They get a notification when you send.

Adding an emoji

  1. Tap the smiley icon next to the field.
  2. The emoji panel opens — categories at the top, recent emojis at the bottom.
  3. Tap any emoji to add it to your comment.
  4. You can mix emoji and text freely.

Adding a GIF

  1. Tap the GIF button next to the field.
  2. The GIPHY search panel opens with trending GIFs.
  3. Type in the search bar (e.g., Happy Birthday, Mind Blown) to find specific ones.
  4. Tap any GIF to send it directly as a comment.

GIFs replace text. When you pick a GIF, it sends as the entire comment — you can't add text alongside it. If you want both, send the GIF first, then a separate text comment.

FAQs — Posting comments

Q. How long can a comment be?

A. Comments can be a few hundred characters — long enough to say what you mean, short enough to keep threads readable. If you're typing a really long one, it might mean you should reply in DM instead.

Q. Can I edit a comment after sending?

A. No. Once a comment is sent, it can't be edited — only deleted. Read it twice before tapping send.

Q. Does my comment get a notification to the poster?

A. Yes. The moment's poster gets a notification when you comment, and any user you @mentioned gets one too.

Q. Can I send a photo or video as a comment?

A. Not as a moment-style camera capture — but you can send a GIF using the GIF button. For photo/video sharing, use direct messages instead.

Q. Why is my keyboard suggesting Hindi words?

A. Currently supports Hinglish — many users type a mix of English and Hindi. Your keyboard's auto-suggest is just adapting. You can switch to English-only in your phone's keyboard settings.

Q. Can I quote part of someone's comment?

A. Not directly — but you can use @username to address them, or tap Reply so your message is clearly nested under theirs.
