Managing your own moments

Updated

Edit, save, turn off comments, or delete a moment you posted.

Opening the moment menu

  1. Find your own moment in the feed (or open it from your profile).
  2. Tap the three dots at the top-right of the moment card.
  3. A menu slides up with options.

What you can do with your moment

OptionWhat it does
Download MomentSaves the photo or video to your phone's gallery.
Edit MomentChange the caption, location, or visibility (you can't change the photo itself).
Turn off CommentingNo one can comment on this moment. People can still react.
Turn on CommentingRe-enables comments on a moment where they were turned off.
Unsaved MomentIf you'd previously saved this moment for personal reference, this removes it from your saved list.
Save MomentAdds this moment to your saved list (visible in your profile).
Delete MomentPermanently removes the moment from Currently. Can't be undone.

Deleting a moment

  1. Tap Delete Moment in the menu.
  2. A confirmation screen asks: "So, you want to delete your Moment?"
  3. Pick a reason (this helps us improve the app):
    • I don't like my Moment
    • There was a bug during capture
    • I can't see anything on my Currently (i.e., low feed activity)
    • Inappropriate content
    • Other
  4. Tap Yes, I'm sure to confirm, or I changed my mind to cancel.

Deletion is permanent. Once you delete a moment, it's gone — the photo, comments, reactions, all of it. We don't have a way to recover deleted moments. If you're not sure, tap I changed my mind instead.

Turning off comments on one moment

Sometimes you want to share a moment without inviting comments. Tap the more-options menu, then Turn off Commenting. The comment bar disappears from that moment, and people see a small note that comments are off. You can turn them back on the same way.

FAQs — Managing your moments

Q. Can I undelete a moment?

A. No. Deleted moments are permanently removed. If you weren't sure about deleting, the I changed my mind button is your friend.

Q. If I edit a moment, do my reactions and comments disappear?

A. No. Reactions and comments stay. Only the caption, location, or visibility you edit changes.

Q. Can I edit the photo or video itself?

A. No. The original capture stays — that's part of how Currently keeps moments honest. If you want a different photo, delete the moment and post a new one.

Q. What happens to a moment when I turn off commenting?

A. Existing comments stay visible, but no one can add new ones. People can still react with hearts and emoji.

Q. Where do my saved moments go?

A. Saved moments live in your profile — go to Profile → Saved to see them all. Only you can see your saved list.

Q. What does 'Remove from main grid' mean?

A. That option is for other people's moments you've reacted to or saved — it removes them from your saved/main grid view but doesn't delete the original. (You'll see this option on someone else's moment, not your own.)
