Where Does My Moment Appear? (Feed, Profile & Map Explained)

Updated

When sharing a Moment on Currently, your content can appear in three independent locations, each governed by separate visibility controls.

The Three Surfaces

Feed

Feed displays "what people are doing right now" in a time-based format. Your Moment appears here based on your chosen visibility level (Public, Close Friends, or Private) and profile privacy settings. Public Moments on public profiles reach the public feed, while Close Friends Moments remain restricted, and Private Moments don't appear in the feed at all.

Your Profile

Your Profile serves as a permanent activity timeline. All shared Moments remain unless manually deleted, with visibility determined by profile privacy settings. On public profiles, anyone can visit and see Moments according to their individual visibility settings. Private profiles restrict access to approved followers only, though even on public profiles, "Private Moments remain visible only to you."

The Map

The Map shows location-based activity with strong privacy controls. Your Moment appears on the map only when map visibility is set to Public or Close Friends and you're not in Ghost Mode. Ghost Mode keeps you completely invisible while still allowing you to explore the map.

Key Principle

Each surface operates independently. You can simultaneously post a Public Moment, maintain a Private Profile, and appear on the Map only to Close Friends. Your content appears "only where you allow it to appear."
