How Do I Deactivate or Delete My Account?

The Currently app provides two account management options with significantly different outcomes.

Deactivation: Temporary Solution

Deactivation is reversible. When you deactivate your account, "your profile becomes invisible" and "your Moments are hidden," but your data is preserved. You can reactivate anytime by logging back in with your mobile number.

Steps to deactivate:

  1. Open the Currently app
  2. Go to Profile → Settings → Account
  3. Select Deactivate Account and confirm

Deletion: Permanent Action

Deletion cannot be undone. When you delete your account, "all your Moments are deleted" along with streaks, badges, and coins. "Account cannot be recovered."

Steps to delete:

  1. Open the Currently app
  2. Go to Profile → Settings → Account
  3. Select Delete Account and confirm with OTP if required

Critical Considerations

  • Your mobile number cannot be reused after deletion
  • Coins and rewards cannot be transferred
  • Support cannot restore deleted accounts
  • The action applies across all your devices

For users who may return in the future, deactivation is the safer choice since it preserves your data while keeping your account hidden.
