Your Cntly.me link, your QR code, and how to scan others.
Sharing your profile
Currently gives you two ways to share your profile with someone — a link they can tap, or a QR code they can scan in person.
Open the share screen
- Open your profile.
- Tap the share icon at the top of your profile (next to the menu).
- The Add me on Currently screen opens, showing your QR code and link.
Your QR code
A black-and-white QR code with your profile picture in the centre. Friends scan it with their Currently app to instantly land on your profile and follow you.
Your share link
Below the QR code, your personal link appears: Cntly.me/shethwalamitesh. Tap to copy. Share it on WhatsApp, Insta, anywhere.
Share buttons
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Story (Instagram icon) | Posts your QR code as an Instagram Story |
| Chat | Opens your most recent chat to share the link |
| Share (system) | Opens the system share sheet — WhatsApp, SMS, anywhere |
| Copy | Copies your Cntly.me link to your clipboard |
| Save | Saves your QR code as an image to your phone gallery |
Scanning someone else's QR code
To follow someone in person, scan their QR code:
- On the share screen, tap the small scan icon at the top-right (looks like a viewfinder).
- The Scan QR code screen opens with the camera.
- Point your camera at their QR code, centring it inside the box.
- The screen shows: Please center the QR code in the scan box.
- Once scanned, you're taken to their profile.
- Tap Follow to add them, or just scroll their profile.
QR from your gallery. If a friend already shared their QR code as an image, you can scan it from your Gallery instead of pointing the camera. On the scan screen, tap Gallery at the bottom-right and pick the image.
FAQs — Sharing & QR
Q. Why does my Cntly.me link have my username in it?
A. It's based on your handle, so it's easy to remember and share verbally. Cntly.me/{username} always points to your profile.
Q. Can I customize the link?
A. The link is automatically your Cntly.me/{username}. To change the link, change your username (if allowed).
Q. My QR code keeps coming up gibberish. Why?
A. Currently QR codes are designed for the Currently app. If you scan with your camera or another app, you may see a cntly.me/... link — that's correct, just tap it to open Currently. If nothing happens, make sure you have the app installed.
Q. Can I print my QR code?
A. Yes — tap Save to download it as an image. You can then print it, put it on stickers, business cards, anywhere.
Q. If I scan someone's QR, do they know I scanned?
A. Scanning alone doesn't notify them. But if you tap Follow on their profile after scanning, they get a follower notification (same as any follow).
Q. Can two people share QR codes at once to follow each other?
A. Yes — that's a common pattern at events. One person shows their QR while the other scans, then they swap. You'll both end up following each other.
