What Are the Basic Features I Should Know as a New User?

Welcome to Currently — a real-time social app where people share what they're doing right now.

This guide will help you understand the core features and get the most out of your experience.

1. Sharing a Moment

A Moment represents what you are doing right now at the present moment — without filters or edits directly from the camera with badge of activity.

How to post a Moment:

Tap the "+" button
Capture a photo, or a video
Select your activity category (ex. Eating, Playing, Travelling, Shopping)
Select optional details like - Duration, Tag Location, Tag Friends, Privacy, Caption etc.
It remains permanently visible on your profile & friend's feed.
All of your friends who has subscribed to your profile will get an instant notification about what you are doing.

Tip: Moments are meant to be spontaneous and authentic.

2. Streak System

The Streak system rewards you for posting consistently.

How it works:

Post at least one Moment daily to maintain your streak
Streaks have multiple milestones, like 2 days, 7 days, 15 days, 25 days etc.
If you miss a day, your streak resets to the last achieved milestone, not zero

Rewards:

Streak badges unlock bonus coins on each milestone
Also you get coins on friend's streak badges who you invited on Currently

3. Following People

Following others allows you to stay updated on their Moments.

Features:

You can stalk (bell icon) your friends for instant life updates.
Or you can just follow to see their updates in the feed but you will not get instant notification.
You can control this in setting section.
You can follow back users who follow you.
Discover new users via Explore Nearby.
You can use filter of Friends in Search, Map, Nearby section everywhere.

4. Live Nearby Feed

Live Nearby helps you discover what people around you are doing in real time.

How to use:

Tap on Live Nearby
View Moments shared near your current location
Useful for discovering local activity, events, and people

Location data is used only to enhance real-time discovery.

5. Business Pages

Business Pages helps you to discover various business and the footfall, friends and their moment at the business location.

Business place also represent:

Location (Pin) for Navigation
Footfalls (Unique footfalls and your friends footfalls)
Business Details like Address, Phone Number, Website, Opening & Closing timings etc.
How many people are have visited how many times
Moments captured by people at that place

6. Achievements & Badges

Badges are awarded based on activity and engagement.

You can earn badges for:

Building Streak (Posting without break)
Gaining followers
Receiving likes and views on a single Moment
Inviting Friends

To view your badges:

Go to Game Section → Click on Achievements

While all badges improve visibility, only Streak & Invite Badges award bonus coins.

7. Coins & Rewards

Coins are Currently's reward currency.

You can earn coins by:

Inviting friends (on each joined & activated friend you get 100 coins)
Maintaining posting streaks - on each milestone
Unlocking milestone badges of Invites
On your friend's daily post (people invited by you)
On your friend's streak milestone (1x of their streak milestone for each friend)

Redeeming coins:

Withdraw instantly to bank, Buy Products & Get exciting deals

8. Invite & Earn

You can invite friends using your referral link.

Click on Coin - Click on Invite - Share Link to your friends.

Or you can share Invite Code from the same page with your friends if they have already created account (This is allowed only in first 15 days of someone joining without an invite).

Benefits:

You earn 100 coins only when invited friends sign up, post their quality moment which is approved by our team.
Your friend also gets 100 coins if they join through your Invite
On each milestone of number friends you Invite you get certain Bonus Coins = 10x
You can Invite as many friends you wish to Invite

9. Chat

If you find interesting people, exciting moments you can directly talk to people you know on the app via chat.

Chat is 100% private & secure and we can not read any communication until you grant us permission in case of reporting chat.

Benefits:

Chat can be Primary, General & Request.
For all your friends who you do not wish to miss out on notification - you can transfer them to Primary for instant open notification about their message.
Each message to a new user if they don't follow you back will go to Request section.
You can transfer not so important communication or private communication to General.
You can share moment, location inside chat.

10. Search

Search is the easiest way to find exciting moment, people, hashtag, places anything you wish to find in real time.

In People section you can discover your contact book friends, suggestion to find common friends and Invite your friends as well or Spotlight users.

By default each moment in search section is in reverse timeframe which you can filter via category like Eating, Shopping, Travelling etc.

Each Category Section has further option to filter like Friends, Spotlights, Everyone & Nearby to dig down deeper.
