Understanding a moment card

Updated

Every part of a feed post, from the user's name at the top to the location at the bottom.

What is a 'moment'?

A moment is a single post on Currently. It's a real-time camera capture of what someone is doing right now — eating, working, playing cricket, watching a movie, anything. Every moment shows up as a card in the feed.

Parts of a moment card

Reading from top to bottom, here's what every moment shows:

PartWhat it tells you
Profile picture and nameWho posted the moment, e.g., Khushi is drinking
Time + status verbHow long ago, plus the activity verb with a ▼ to see related verbs (e.g., 5 min Stalking ▼)
Status verb iconSmall icon on the right (cup for drinking, controller for gaming, etc.)
Caption / hashtagsShort text the user wrote, often with hashtags
Photo or videoThe actual moment — tap to see full screen, double-tap to like
Reactor avatars + countSmall circle of avatars (+3) at bottom-left of the photo showing who reacted
Reaction barLikes, emoji reactions, comments, share, and a more-options menu
Location pin + distanceWhere the moment was posted, and how far it is from you (e.g., Starbucks, Ahmedabad — 2km)

The status verb

The little verb under the user's name — like Stalking, Eating, Playing — is the activity they tagged. The ▼ arrow next to it lets you see related verbs from the same category.

What is 'Stalking'? If you see someone with a Stalking status, it means they're scrolling through Currently right now — not posting, just watching. It's a self-aware label, not a creepy one. Tap the ▼ to switch to a different verb.

The video play button

If a moment is a video, you'll see a circular play button overlay on the image. Tap it to play. Videos auto-pause when you scroll away.

FAQs — Moment cards

Q. What does the number next to a heart or fire emoji mean?

A. It's the count — how many people gave that reaction. So 225 next to a heart means 225 people liked the moment.

Q. How do I know how far a moment was posted from me?

A. Look at the bottom-right of the card. You'll see a small label like 2km or 15km — that's how far the location is from your current location.

Q. What's the small +3 next to the avatars at the bottom of the photo?

A. That means 3 more people reacted to this moment, beyond the few avatars shown. Tap the avatars to see the full list.

Q. Can I see the moment in full screen?

A. Yes. Tap the photo or video to open it in full screen. From there, you can swipe down to close or use the reaction bar at the bottom.

Q. What happens if I tap the location?

A. It opens the place's page in Currently — you can see other moments from there, save the place, or get directions.
