Trending Now, All Activities, and the two-step refinement.
Why every moment needs an activity tag
Every moment on Currently is tagged with what you're doing — Drinking - Coffee, Playing - Cricket, Watching - Movie. Activity tags drive the entire app: the home feed sorts by them, the Live Map filters by them, and your Vibe DNA is calculated from them. Picking a tag is required.
Opening the activity picker
After capturing your photo, tap the activity chip at the top of the camera (e.g., Drinking - Coffee with a small pencil icon). The ACTIVITY picker screen opens.
Two layers of activities
Layer 1 — Trending Now & All Activities
At the top of the picker, two sections:
- TRENDING NOW — quick pills for popular activities right now (e.g.,
Playing - Cricket,Eating - Pizza). Tap one to skip the two-step picker entirely. - ALL ACTIVITIES — grid of broad categories:
Attending,Baking,Celebrating,Cleaning,Doing,Drinking,Eating,Enjoying, etc. Each shows a small icon and the number of sub-options (e.g.,11 options).
Layer 2 — Refinement
Once you tap an Activity tile (e.g., Attending), the screen shifts to show specific sub-activities:
just attending— keep it generic (the safe default)College,Wedding,Concert,Engagement,ClassEvent,Live Event,Meeting,Party,School,Seminar- Plus a
+ Add custom activityfield at the bottom (see Adding a custom activity)
Pick a sub-activity — it turns green to confirm. The Selected: {Activity} - {Sub} strip appears at the bottom (e.g., Selected: Attending - College).
Confirming
Once you've picked, the green Confirm button at the bottom is enabled. Tap Confirm to apply the activity tag and return to the composer.
Quick tip — trending is faster. If the trending pill matches what you're doing (e.g.,
Eating - Pizzashown when you're at a pizza place), tap it instead of going through the two-step picker. One tap, done.
Closing without picking
Tap the X at the top-right of the picker to close it without changing anything. The activity tag stays whatever it was before (or empty).
FAQs — Activity picker
Q. Can I post a moment without an activity tag?
A. No — activity tags are required. They're the foundation of how your moment is categorized, found, and counted in your Vibe DNA. Every moment needs one.
Q. What's the difference between 'just attending' and the other options?
A. just attending is the generic default if you don't want to be specific. Use it when you're attending something but don't want to specify what. It's better than skipping the activity tag entirely.
Q. Why are some activities greyed out?
A. Greyed-out activities can't be selected from this view — usually because they're already part of another category. Tap a different category, or just pick from the available ones.
Q. Can I have multiple activity tags on one moment?
A. Just one. The activity is the heart of the moment. If you're doing two things at once (e.g., eating AND watching), pick the one that's the main vibe — and mention the other in your caption.
Q. Why isn't 'Cooking' on the list?
A. It might be inside a different category, like under Doing or Baking. Try the search bar at the top — type 'cooking' and any matching options pop up. If nothing fits, use the custom activity feature.
